The Road Map is an assessment of the “lay of the land” in public outreach as it relates to biodiversity, and a review of strategic opportunities.  It includes information on public attitudes and promising outreach approaches.  This “roadmap” provides a framework for continuing dialogue among leaders in environmental science, policy, education and stewardship, and identifies goals for action for the environmental movement.
Our greatest hope is that it will serve to coalesce leadership to carry out new outreach strategies and strengthen current work.

     Contains chapters on the following:

  • The Challenge of Engaging the Public on Biodiversity
  • What We Know about Public Attitudes
  • Pathways to the Public
  • Barriers to More Effective Outreach
  • Strengthening Capacity for Outreach
  • What We Should Say and to Whom
